3 Spiritual Philosophies That Turned Out To Be True

Spirituality has often been neglected by scientific-minded people as something that is abstract and a figment of people’s imagination. However, despite this, some spiritual concepts have been conceded as veritable by scientists. From the coveted golden ratio to the power of thought, here are some of them:

1.Golden Ratio

Spiritualists, especially those believing in sacred geometry had long held the notion that the Earth’s design can be broken down into one base element. As it turns out that base element is actually a number, 1.618. Represented by the Greek letter ϕ (phi), this number is deemed as a Golden ratio due to its abundance in nature. It can be found in the arrangement of flower petals, the spirals of galaxies, the splits in tree branches, the growth of pinecones, among others.

Golden Ratio: “Fibonacci Spiral”

The term ratio comes from the fact that the Golden number actually comes from the relationship between two segments of an object. For example, if we bisect the body into two portions at the navel; one head to navel and the other navel to feet. Dividing the length of these sections would result in the Golden ratio. The same is the case with all the other aforementioned objects.

The omnipresence of the Golden ratio in nature begs us to consider the fact that there might be a superior, spiritual entity that created our universe in a systematic manner.

2. The Spirit

All creatures, whether plants, animals or humans, have awareness that they expose to varying degrees. No consciousness comes from matter. This is why scientists cannot create life in a laboratory by mixing chemicals. Also, every religion in the world defines death as the passing of the soul. Therefore it can be inferred that our consciousness is, in fact, an irreducible element of reality and comes directly from our soul.

Recently, scientists been able to explain the existence of the soul in a concrete way. Physicists, Stuart Hameroff and Roger Penrose have come up with the quantum theory of soul after studying near death experiences. According to them, the soul is an agglomeration of quantum data that resides in tiny compartments, called microtubules, in our brain. These compartments are the sites of the processing of heavy amounts of quantum data. This processing can be deemed as our consciousness. The two physicists further go on to explain death as the evaporation of this quantum data from the brain and out into the universe. One can deduce from this that our consciousness still lives on despite the body shutting down. Thus the spiritual-minded people are not wrong when they emphasize on life after death, reincarnation and astral projections.

3. Thoughts are concrete

One bizarre philosophy of spirituality is that we create our own reality. That our perceptions of the world are engineered by our own brain. This implies that thoughts are not immaterial but are physical and can alter the way we see things.

Well the material nature of thought has been recently proved by quantum scientists working at the Weizmann Institute of Science. In their research they found that a straight electron beam would bend upon being observed. The stronger the observation, the greater the degree of bending. They explained this phenomenon by quantifying thoughts as small packets of quantum energy that emanate from our brain and interact with physical objects around them.

In conclusion, it can be deemed that science and spirituality are not poles apart as initially thought. In fact, the situation is on the contrary where science, specifically quantum mechanics, can help us explain the mechanism and structuring of some of the most entrenched spiritual beliefs in a rational, quantitative manner.
